Mecer E5104N2 Wireless Router

 

 

SETUP GUIDE FOR THE NEW MECER WIRELESS ROUTER - MODEL E5104N2

 

  1. Open the browser and go to http://192.168.1.1
  2. If prompted, the Username: admin and Password: password
  3. This router does not ask for the username and password when you login

 

SETTING YOUR SAOL.COM USERNAME AND PASSWORD

 

  1. Once logged in, click on Quick Setup
  2. Type in the Saol.com username and password that has been provided by Saol.com
  3. Click Commit & Reboot

 

 

 

SETTING UP THE WIRELESS ACCESS

 

 

SETTING THE SSID

 

  1. After the router has rebooted, you need to login again - http://192.168.1.1
  2. You will be prompted for the Username: admin and Password: password
  3. Once logged in, click on Wireless Setup
  4. Click on Wireless Basic Setup
  5. Change the SSID to SAOL.COM

 

Once changed, click on Apply Changes

Then click on Save on the left hand side

 

 

 

 

SETTING UP THE AUTHENTICATION TYPE

 

  1. Click on Wireless, the Wireless Advance Settings
  2. Now change the Authentication Type to Shared Key

 

 

Once done, click on Apply Changes

Now click on Save on the left hand side

 

 

 

SETTING UP THE WIRELESS SECURITY

 

  1. Click on Wireless, then Wireless Security Setup
  2. Make sure that the SSID Type is set to Root
  3. Change the Encryption Type to WPA (TKIP)
  4. Make sure that the WPA Authentication Mode is set to Personal (Pre-Shared Key)
  5. Pre-Shared Key Format must be set to Passphrase
  6. You can now in put the 8 digit Pre-Shared Key

 

 

Once done, click on Apply Changes

Now click on Save on the left hand side

 

 

 

SAVING THE SETTINGS

 

  1. Once all changes have be done and applied:
  2. Click on Admin
  3. Make sure that you have "Save Current Configuration" set in the drop down box
  4. Then click on Apply

 

 

The router will now save the settings and reboot. Once the ADSL and Internet lights are on, you should be able to browse the net.
